True Didymium™ is our exclusive new soft glass torch working filter. It is an updated recipe for the old Schott ACE glass. We do not source this filter from Schott but from one of their competitors. We are also pleased to announce that the True Didymium™ is available in 71mm diameter lenses and all our previous restrictions on frame sizing have been removed.
A side benefit of this filter is the apparent improvement in judging the color temperature of the glass while working it. The observed color is extremely comfortable when viewing glowing heat sources for extended periods of time.
Suggested uses are lampworking of soft glass beads and small sculptures. Not recommended for working on very high-temperature glasses for prolonged periods of time.
Lenses are available in Plano (non-prescription) form ONLY.
Thickness Advisory: This filter is thicker than normal lenses. In non-prescription form, it is approximately 3 mm thick.
