We developed the AGW™-325 lens to answer requests for exceptional infrared radiation protection while also reducing the light level perceived by the eye. This filter updates the traditional AGW-286 filter.
It comprises a base lens of our exclusive True Didymium™, a thin section of our exclusive lightly tinted IR filter glass, and a section of either shade 3, 4, 5, 6, or 8 Green Welding cemented to the base lens. You may have your lenses made 50/50 or one-third/two-thirds. The shades in the standard configuration are "clear" on top and dark on the bottom. The reversed configuration (custom-made, not returnable) is dark on top and "clear" on the bottom. Your choice.

Suggested uses are where there is a need for attenuation of bright illumination, such as that generated when working Pyrex®, quartz, Vicor®, platinum jewelry work, and any operation where the artist spends prolonged periods of time gazing into a high-temperature furnace or fire pit.
The AGW-325 filter is only available in non-prescription form.
Thickness Advisory: This filter is thicker than normal lenses. In non-prescription form, it is approximately 5 mm thick.
